Named after Topasos Island in the Red Sea. In antique times, the name was probably used for the gemstone that is now known as Peridot. Occurs in pegmatites and high temperature quartz veins, also in cavities in granites and rhyolites. Topaz is a common gemstone that has been used for centuries in jewelry. Its golden brown to yellow color is classic but is confused with the less valuable citrine, which is sold under the name topaz. The blue topaz that is often confused with aquamarine is rarely natural and is produced by irradiating and then heating clear crystals. Topaz is the November Birthstone.

Specimen of Rogerley Fluorite Cluster from Weardale. We have held the price down on this one so it is very affordable and can be tucked away into your collection for safe keeping. This cluster has good crystal coverage on top, with well formed, clear crystals. We have taken photos indoors, outside and also under long wave ultraviolet light. This particular specimen shows great daylight fluorescence. Grab a piece of geological history now and spend hours admiring the amazing cubic form and fluorescent properties of this great English mineral specimen. We have stocked this incredible green Fluorite since we first started dealing minerals many moons ago. We stock a range of pieces from different pockets at the mine. The mine has now closed down and pieces like this are already rising in value. Our photos do no justice to this top quality specimen, it was hard to show the deep forest green of the Fluorite due to high daylight fluorescence.

Large thick slice of Rainbow Fluorite. Fluorite is one of our most popular minerals, loved by young and old. It is rare to get a piece with so many colours altogether. The front and back are polished and either end has been left unpolished which is a nice touch. A great piece to add colour to the collection, and quite rare to find as this type of fluorite is uncommon and used for carvings or jewellery when it is available.

Like my other Mexican favourites, this specimen is best viewed under magnification, which reveals little pockets of crystals, striations and other detail. A beautiful piece from an awesome location. FLUORESCENT RUBY WAND CRYSTAL 35
A large, natural Fluorescent Ruby Wand Crystal. Polished to a cabochon on top, the whole crystal is corundum, the mineral otherwise known as ruby and sapphire. The crystals from this location are rare and unusual. They are all polished to detect any valuable star rubies that may be among them. It is the interference of Titanium Dioxide which creates a Star Ruby. Fluorescent under longwave UVC light. A beautiful natural crystal for the collector and a super gift or treat. Comes in a little drawstring pouch. Ideal as a Fluorescent Mineral Specimen or Massage Wand. Natural Ruby Specimens are becoming rare and hard to come by. More and more fake and synthetic Rubies are being created in the lab. Also mining is more blast and crush these days as compared with the old ways.
