CHRYSOPRASE CHUNK SPECIMEN
Large Chrysoprase Chunk Specimen with great green colour. It is translucent showing the grain, colour banding and slightly porous. Great for carving or as a brightly apple coloured mineral specimen. This is from very old stock. Stunning. Two flat cut faces really shows the interior of this Chrysoprase.

Chrysoprase, chrysophrase or chrysoprasus is a gemstone variety of chalcedony a cryptocrystalline form of silica that contains small quantities of nickel. The best colour is apple green which imitates Imperial Jade from Asia, but varies from deep green, blue grey to lemon. The darker varieties are called prase.

SiO2 · nH2O.A colourless variety of Opal. Hyalite is opal, an amorphous silica glass containing about 3-8% water. Hyalite occurs as globular and botryoidal masses and irregular crusts. Found in volcanic and pegmatite environments where the silica deposits from the gas phase. It often shows a strong green fluorescence in UV light.

Bismuth SulfideBismuthinite is an important ore of bismuth. Sprays of steel gray prismatic bismuthinite crystals radiate outward from a common attachment point in the more spectacular specimens of this somewhat rare sulfide mineral. These specimens can not help but be compared to specimens of stibnite. It is difficult to distinguish from the similar looking and closely related antimony sulfide. Bismuthinite is heavier than stibnite and on closer inspection of the crystals, there exists a noticeable difference with bismuthinite’s having straighter, flatter faces. In massive form the confusion is even more pronounced, but bismuthinite is not associated with the typical antimony or arsenic minerals to which stibnite is so commonly allied.

Galena: PbS
Galena is the primary ore mineral of lead. Worked for its lead content as early as 3000 BC, it is found in ore veins with sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, tennantite-tetrahedrite, etc. and in skarns, as well as in sedimentary rocks where it may replace carbonate beds or be deposited in pore spaces.

This is a rare quality calcite crystal specimen, Aussie Calcite Rosette. A really lovely piece of calcite, quite a stunning formation with excellent crystal shape. Super collectable for your crystal, mineral, calcite or Aussie specimen collection. This Rosette with bladed crystals is translucent pale ivory with three semi spherical crystal forms. Australian Calcite specimens from Tyndal Quarry like this aesthetically pleasing show piece rarely become available.
