Al2O3.Corundum is called Sapphire except red Sapphire which is called Ruby. The word sapphire comes from the Greek word for blue, sapphirus. Only a few hundredths of a percent of iron and titanium can cause the colour, and the more iron the corundum contains, the darker the blue. A rare sapphire is a Padparadscha which is a pinky peach colour, found in Sri Lanka. The best shade of red for a Ruby is Pigeon Blood Red. Ruby can be any shade of red up to almost pink.

HUEBNERITE QUARTZ CRYSTALS
Great looking Metal Specimen of Huebnerite Quartz Crystals, showing amazing crystal formations protruding out of the interlacing quartz matrix. Slight translucency on edges of Huebnerite crystals with some minimal yellow sulfur coloured oxide on surfaces or protected crevices and in the Quartz. This is a very collectable piece. Huebnerite is an ore of Tungsten. Tungsten is used to make fake Gold bars. That is because Tungsten has the same specific gravity as gold does. The best way to test for this type of fakery is to drill a very small hole in the bar.

CLEIOPHANE GALENA CRYSTALS
A stunning Cleiophane Galena Crystal Specimen on a Quartz matrix. Featuring many well formed crystals of Cleiophane – some on twinned Octocube Galena crystal forms. A sprinkling of micro Chalcopyrite is noticeable. Cleiophane is the gemmy or purer version of Sphalerite, sought after for its rarity and beauty. An outstanding addition to the metals cabinet for a serious collector. A real wow piece, my photos don’t do it justice. Not common Cleiophane or twinned Octocube Galena to come by and at a bargain price. The location is also classic of where some of the best Sphalerite, Galena and Quartz specimens are from. ELBAITE CLEAVELANDITE
A great specimen of Elbaite Cleavelandite to add to your collection. Elbaite is a form of bi colour Tourmaline. Really nice termination. Cleavelandite is the white matrix a variety of Albite. ROGERLEY MINE FLUORITE CRYSTALS
Specimen of Rogerley Mine Fluorite Crystals from Weardale. This cluster has good large crystal formation. We have taken photos indoors, outside and also under long wave ultraviolet light. This particular specimen shows daylight fluorescence (The Blue edging of Green Fluorite Crystals). An all round good clean specimen of Rogerley with almost no matrix – check out the pics. Grab a piece of geological history now and spend hours admiring the amazing cubic form and fluorescent properties of this great English mineral specimen. INCLUSION SMOKY QUARTZ CRYSTAL 7
A lovely, Inclusion Smoky Quartz Crystal 7! This is a beautiful, natural piece with inclusions of what looks like Rutile and Sulphur. Check out the pics to see inclusions inside the quartz and yellow Sulphur outside with some Sulphur at the start of the Rutile crystal inside. Very interesting under magnification and bringing great properties to the crystal. This smoky is very unusual and different from all sides; feels good to hold in the hand and looks even better with sunlight behind it. Go on, spoil yourself.

TABULAR CALCITE
A striking specimen of Tabular Calcite Crystals. This is a fine cluster showing one of the less usual formations that calcite appears in. A large 6.2cm Tabular Calcite Crystal dominates the center of this hand sized specimen. The main crystal is surrounded by more than a dozen smaller crystals on a matrix of Galena and some associated sparkling minerals. Aesthetic, collectable and hard to find in nice clean clusters like this. Calcite comes in an incredible range of crystal formations and colours. This specimen will be a great addition to any mineral or crystal collection. Particularly for the collector interested in crystal form and minerals with many variations. SPARKLING PYRITE CRYSTALS
Beautifully simple Sparkling Pyrite Crystals with very reflective faces. Great addition for mineral, metals or pyrite collections. The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, also known as fool’s gold, is an iron sulfide which has the chemical formula FeS2. This mineral’s metallic luster and brass yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool’s gold. Interestingly Pyrite does not attract a magnet. This specimen comes from a premier location and sports a mini cave cavity right through.

Galena: PbS
Galena is the primary ore mineral of lead. Worked for its lead content as early as 3000 BC, it is found in ore veins with sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, tennantite-tetrahedrite, etc. and in skarns, as well as in sedimentary rocks where it may replace carbonate beds or be deposited in pore spaces.
