3 ELITE SHUNGITE CRYSTALS
3 ELITE SHUNGITE CRYSTALS
A handful of polished 3 Elite Shungite Crystals. Also known as Noble Shungite, this is the rarer crystalised version of the shungite rock.
SHUNGITE
Shungite is a very popular mineral for its many interesting uses, including water purification and its metaphysical properties.  As you may notice when comparing the size with the weight of this mineral, it is very light. That is the carbon component at hand. It is also the carbon that lends itself to water purification. These specimens come with a pouch. What you see is what you get – the photos are the exact same as what you will receive.
Shungite is an intriguing material. The name of the stone comes from the village of Shunga not far from the Zazhoginskoy mine. Shungite has unique mineral properties. The solid possesses sorption, catalytic and antibacterial properties. It has been known of for centuries in Russia where people would bath in water from the area for its curative properties.
Shungite has been used in medical treatment since the early 18th century. Peter the Great set up Russia’s first spa in Karelia to make use of the water purifying properties of shungite, which he had himself experienced. He also instigated its use in providing purified water for the Russian army. The anti-bacterial properties of shungite have been confirmed by modern testing.

AMBER POLISHED
AMBER POLISHED
Amber Polished or fossil tree sap. This one has a very interesting insect in it to check out under a magnifying glass. Amber is a beautiful stone that is cut and polished and used as a valuable gemstone. It is also a fossil and can contain (this one does) preserved insects and other animals and plants that are tens of millions of years old. The odd inclusions that are often seen in amber usually add to amber’s unique look and in many cases greatly increase its value. There is a great close up of the bug inside this Amber, with good light from outside. One pic is taken under Long Wave UV light as this is fluorescent material. This particular specimen is from the private collection.
