MIMETITE ON HEMIMORPHITE
A beaut specimen of yellow Mimetite on Hemimorphite Crystals. Hundreds of delicate clear Hemimorphite crystals cluster on both sides of the matrix. Balls of yellow Mimetite scatter over the matrix and on top of the Hemimorphite. This is one of my favourite specimen types that come from Mexico, which is saying something! This would make an excellent addition to any mineral collection and appeal to those who love peering at specimens through a loupe or magnifier. A great collectible mineral from a well known location.

A secondary mineral found in the oxidized zones of lead deposits. Usually found as small hexagonal prisms, often plain but may be modified, sprinkled on the matrix thinly to thickly. Its colour is quite variable, ranging from pale yellow to yellowish-brown to orange-yellow to orange-red, brownish, greenish, white and colorless.
