BURMESE BLUE SAPPHIRE PARCEL
BURMESE BLUE SAPPHIRE PARCEL. Good colour. We collected these three from Myanmar several years ago when they were a lot easier to get.
Location:
Mogok, Myanmar.Dimensions:
9 Pieces total weight, 30g.Aluminum Oxide
Al2O3.Corundum is called Sapphire except red Sapphire which is called Ruby. The word sapphire comes from the Greek word for blue, sapphirus. Only a few hundredths of a percent of iron and titanium can cause the colour, and the more iron the corundum contains, the darker the blue. A rare sapphire is a Padparadscha which is a pinky peach colour, found in Sri Lanka. The best shade of red for a Ruby is Pigeon Blood Red. Ruby can be any shade of red up to almost pink.
