Check out this outstanding Top Boulder Opal Rough Parcel. An extra quality parcel of beautiful rough Boulder Opal. These are the best specimens out of several lots bought in person directly from the dude that mined it! Unusual and vibrant aqua colouring is a feature of this lot, along with blue, green sparkles and other flashes of colour. Some pieces show the veining which is an attractive feature also. Each piece has been cut to its best potential ready for jewellery or perfect as a mineral specimen in your Aussie collection. I feel like this one is a parcel I’ll regret selling, but that’s the way it goes in the rock trade. I love opal in the rough and this is a special little parcel on offer. Chrysoprase, chrysophrase or chrysoprasus is a gemstone variety of chalcedony (a cryptocrystalline form of silica) that contains small quantities of nickel. Its best color is normally apple-green, but varies to deep green. The darker varieties of chrysoprase are also referred to as Prase. This material was fossicked many years ago, the location is now closed for fossicking and local sales.

Corundum is called Sapphire except red Sapphire which is called Ruby. The word sapphire comes from the Greek word for blue, sapphirus. Only a few hundredths of a percent of iron and titanium can cause the colour, and the more iron the corundum contains, the darker the blue. A rare sapphire is a Padparadscha which is a pinky peach colour, found in Sri Lanka. The best shade of red for a Ruby is Pigeon Blood Red. Ruby can be any shade of red up to almost pink.

HUEBNERITE QUARTZ CRYSTALS
Great looking Metal Specimen of Huebnerite Quartz Crystals, showing amazing crystal formations protruding out of the interlacing quartz matrix. Slight translucency on edges of Huebnerite crystals with some minimal yellow sulfur coloured oxide on surfaces or protected crevices and in the Quartz. This is a very collectable piece. Huebnerite is an ore of Tungsten. Tungsten is used to make fake Gold bars. That is because Tungsten has the same specific gravity as gold does. The best way to test for this type of fakery is to drill a very small hole in the bar.
