PYRITE CRYSTAL
PYRITE CRYSTAL
A beautifully simple Pyrite Crystal Specimen with shiny striated faces. A twinned Pyrite crystal with some surface Sphalerite. Note the location – different from most other specimens. Good for those with a mineral, metals or pyrite collection. The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, also known as fool’s gold, is an iron sulfide which has the chemical formula FeS2. This mineral’s metallic luster and pale brass yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool’s gold.

A stunning ore specimen of Rich Gold Bearing Bismuthinite. Hefty in weight with the two exceptional metals with exceptional properties. This Flour Gold in Bismuthinite would make a stunning specimen. This material as a specimen is not common. The precious Gold ore was missed by several geological surveys as they didn’t think Gold was found in Bismuth. It turned out to be one of the richest high grade Gold ores found in Australia. The Pinter Lode. The Pinter Lode 70,000 Ounces 1989 – 1991. Includes Gold, Magnetite, Copper and Chlorite.

PYRITE SUN LARGE
A broken Pyrite Sun Large. This is a natural formation of Pyrite and something quite different to the usual more cubic looking varieties. Striations radiate out from the centre. Our Suns are hand selected at the source for their excellent quality. We are well known for our metals range and have pyrite specimens showing cubic, orbicular and octahedral crystals, as well as these suns. Pyrite (“fools gold”) is popular with all age groups. A great piece for the collector of unusual pieces. This Pyrite Sun comes with a perspex stand for display and looks even better in person. Unfortunately this one was broken in the post but it is very large and would still be good as a display specimen for the collection. Could be used for making jewellery.

PYRITISED AMMONITE FOSSIL
PYRITISED AMMONITE FOSSIL
Stunning Pyritised Ammonite Fossil specimen. This specimen is large and heavy to hold for it’s size in the hand. Fossil Ammonites with a natural formation of Pyrite are uncommon and only come from a few locations in the world. This is a natural fossil specimen. An amazing artifact and a natural example of the Fibonacci sequence. Also from the center out, the spiral increases at the ratio of Phi or the golden section, 1.618. This number is also related to Pi and the Fibonacci Sequence.

CHALCOPYRITE GALENA RHODOCHROSITE
CHALCOPYRITE GALENA RHODOCHROSITE
An unusual combo specimen featuring Chalcopyrite Galena Rhodochrosite and a little Mangano Calcite in one piece. The Galena Crystals when seen up close are amazing and also the Chalcopyrite crystals are very visible. Even better under magnification of course. The little Mangano Calcite crystals are fluorescent under long wave UV light as shown in the photos. The Rhodochrosite is also a pale pink which the photos don’t show well.
