Rare Aussie Topaz Crystal. Topaz is usually used in jewellery, mineral specimens are hard to come by. A beaut piece featuring some imperfect terminations on top and good clarity with slightly cloudy center. This specimen is mounted on a perspex pad for enhanced display. The location has been closed for a long time. Colour is clear with slightest blue.

Named after Topasos Island in the Red Sea. In antique times, the name was probably used for the gemstone that is now known as Peridot. Topaz is a gemstone that has been used for centuries in jewelry. Topaz can make very attractive mineral specimens due to their high luster, nice colors and well formed and multifaceted crystals.
