An excellent specimen of Rhodonite Crystal from Broken Hill. Specimens of this quality are uncommon and getting harder to come by. This is a classic, collectable Australian Mineral from a well known location. Mounted on a perspex pad for enhanced display.

Named in 1819 by Christoph Friedrich Jasche from the Greek “rhodon” meaning “rose”, referring to its colour.
Galena: PbS.
Galena is the primary ore mineral of lead. Worked for its lead content as early as 3000 BC. Named by Pliny the Elder in 77-79 from the Greek “galene” meaning lead ore.
