SIDERITE SPECIMEN
A lovely little Siderite Specimen from Tasmania. Interesting, with well formed Siderite crystals on both sides of the piece. Features one little Fluorite crystal and also some Quartz. A great Aussie piece for the collection. Mt Cleveland Mine is a former underground Sn-Cu-Bi mine in north western Tasmania, closed in 1986. This is the ugliest specimen we have online.

Siderite: FeCO3. From the Calcite Group. Crystals typically found as brown to tan rhombohedrons in clusters, faces often curved or composites; more often found as medium to dark brown massive fine grained material or as massive crystalline material with exposed curved cleavage surfaces.
