ZIRCON CRYSTAL SPECIMEN
Zircon Crystal Specimen. This is a great specimen, with gemmy red brown crystal. In the matrix there are smaller Zircon Crystals along with other associated gold and black coloured minerals. A baby Zircon Crystal has grown on the side of the larger one.
A collectors specimen. Showing the classic Tetragonal Crystal form and classic location too. This specimen is mounted on a perspex base to enhance display. It is a specimen from the private collection.

Zircons reputation has suffered of late due to the introduction of a diamond simulant. So for the record, zircon is not the same material as the artificial gem material Cubic Zirconia (or CZ). Zircon can make a very attractive and affordable gemstone. Zircon is the December Birthstone.
